Photo 13 really stuck out to be my favorite. It reminded me of my family trips to Knobels. You had a nice mix of black and white photos. Through these photos I feel I have really seen your memories. You did a great job of portraying them as old. I also like in photo 12 how you have a person in the background. I am not sure if it was on purpose but I feel it makes it much more personal seeing the fire with the marshmallows and friend in the background.
Hey Joe, I really like the flow of your pictures from vintage to modern and the motif of spirals in pictures motif of spirals, as evident in photos #7, #13, and SP1. My favorite picture is #2 of the phone booth. I think we can all recall a time when pay phones were still in moderate use and then over time we've watched them decay. Your photo shows off well how something vintage is seen and being used in the modern world.
Hi Joe. I really like photo #7. The composition and content of the photo is on point with the theme of vintage. The ornate design of the stairs show the design standards of the past and it really evokes a vintage feel.
Hi Joe, I really like your pictures, and I like the amount of outside to inside shots you have it’s a nice combination. My favorite picture is number 7 because it makes me look at the image for a minute to figure out exactly what it is. I think it’s a stairway, but it almost has a 3D feel to it. Good job!
#2 is my favorite. I really like the vintage effects applied to it. I also really like the composition; how the real phone is a mirror image of the symbol of a phone. I also really like the effects used on #4. This picture also has really good composition (an extreme close-up of various object) and looks as though it could be found in a magazine. Also, #12 is a really good picture of fire. Fire is hard to photograph without appearing blown-out.
Good job on this assignment, I think you effectively used filters to create a blast from the past. I also like how you used various techniques like focus in image 1 and depth in image 7. I think your pictures are relatable as well. #8 cracked me up, I love Sweet Baby Jesus. My favorite image is #7. I like the B&W, its timelessness and depth.
13 is definitely my favorite. I love rollarcoasters and it reminds me of old romantic movies when a couple is having so much fun at an amusement park back in the day. It kind of looks like it should be a part of the notebook too. It also reminds me of when I went to Coney Island earlier this year. There were still a lot of people there, but the rides were definitely really old.
I think 4,7, 13 and your last self portrait are the strongest here. I feel the others don't really meausre up to them. With that being said these are really vintage looking and interesting. I'd say #7 is my most favorite here. Very simple and visually appealing.
I appreciate that you went out of your way to find vintage retro things to take vintage retro photos of. I also absolutely died laughing at the photo of that baby with shades and a cell phone... sort of a reverse vintage there. Some images are a little soft (like the informal balance shot outside of Paley), but this is solid work otherwise. Your self portrait with the mirrored pieces is my favorite image.
i love your self portrait, is that a disco ball? thats an amazing concept not only are disco balls super vintage but it came up amazingly creative, your face is all distorted and i love how you have your hands to fill in the empty space, the whole thing looks like the cover of a vinyl record so you definitely captured the vintage feel good work
Number 7 is my favorite. The composition and contrast in this image are both very successful. The deep black complements very nicely with the bright white, and is arranged in the frame very nicely. The curves move the eye around the image which is great.
Hi Joe. I think a lot of your photos do a really nice job capturing all things vintage. The filters add a really nice touch. Great job! My favorite photo is your first SP. It's so abstract and really thoughtful.
