My favorite photo was #10. The red light flares in the frame make me really think vintage. I know some old photos my parents have had those red lights in them as well. The outdoor photos really made me remember when me and my friends would go out in the woods exploring and come across items that you have as well. You did a good job with this topic.
Hey Garrett, this is a great set. The first four pictures look like ones from an old family vacation that you just got developed. My favorite picture in this set is #10. You use the techniques from the color/passion unit well as it resonates a feeling of fleeting warmth in the fall.
2 is my favorite! It looks like an old school beach day. Your photos definetly gave me a vintage/memory kinda feeling you also organized the series well by subject matter-they flowed well together.
Hi Garrett, For your overall theme, I believe your photo set it focused on two things. Memory with friends/family and memory of what once was or abandonment. I like how you used various filters to create a vintage feeling for your images. My only complaint is it is hard to understand what your last few photos are trying to communicate. My favorite photo is # 12. I like how the graffiti creates flowers for the plant. I also like how it is B&W which helps highlight this.
i think my favorite has to be 8. it is so creepy but I love it. It actually reminds me of a fairy tale with those little creepy houses where witches live. I love how your pictures really dug deep into the vintage look and feel and you made them really great with your edits.
These are all really awesome. I'm going with #5 as my favorite. Really like the burnt corners and how the scratches make it look like the vehcle is covered in cobwebbs.
So, I really like this body of work. Your filters help capture that memory-inducing old timey feel. My biggest issue is, though, that I'm pretty sure we've seen this work before in other forms? Or at least the same subjects, in term of the broken down machinery and the corroded barrel and the same group of people in the same room on the same couch, before. It might not have been the same occasion as last time, but the fact that it could be confused as such means you might want to try and capture it a little bit differently next time. My favorite image is photo 6.
Hi Ian! My favorite shot was 18- I love how the old machinery blends into the desolate forest and how you edited it so that the vignette made the shot eerie and empty. Nice job!
Hi Garrett. I think you did a nice job capturing the "vintage" theme. I like your use of filters, but it might have been a little heavy handed. My favorite shot is 18: I like how the vintage machinery seems like a distant memory.
