Hi Caitlin, One of the first things I noticed about your set of photos is how well you utilized lighting and filters to create a vintage setting. They are really effective and the spaces you created appear much older than they are. I also like how you used directed shooting to create a story especially in #8, #12 and #14. I also like your focus in #5 and #9. What is number 9... it looks like a dead bird...if so, I give you props for getting that close! I am not completely sure what your pictures communicate but my favorite is 8. Its an intriguing photo and at first I thought it was an envelope or a book. I think I have finally decided on a matchbook but I'm not sure. Overall, great job!
Hey Caitlin, this is a really awesome set. I like how you use many of the techniques from the mystery unit with your skewed and up close angles and black and white filters. For whatever reason I'm drawn to the wheels in picture #11, you shot them very clear and your filter makes me think of the opening to The Wizard of Oz. My favorite picture in this set is #4, you have a great use of focus and the shoes recall images of timeless winters.
My favorite photo was #15. I really like the use of the shadow for the photo and how that was the object. I like how the theme of your photos was a ranch or a stable. It really showed your interests and memories. You had a nice mix of photos taken inside and outside and photos with color and b&w.
Hi Caitlin, my favorite photo was #5. I was taken by how the photo lead my eyes from the top to bottom. My eye started with the tip of the shoe down to the laces. The boot seems old and it has a vintage feel to it. Great job!
My favorite has to be 4. Even though I know what it is, I love the angle of the shot and the story it portrays of hardwork. I really like your style of shooting, and the farm like theme you started here. Nice job!
12 is definitely my favorite. It reminds me of the 50s and like the great gatsby trend that has been coming about. You did a really great job capturing memories into your photos.
#4 is my favorite. The texture of the shoes is captured very well and the black and white filter really enhances the photo and gives it a genuine vintage feel. #14 is also really good and is framed in an interesting way and also really captures the texture.
I love love love shot 14- I think you did a great job of framing, using light to your advantage, and capturing a vintage feel. I also love that you highlighted the subtle features of the horse- it made the photo very personal and emotional. Great job!
I can't really tell what photo 8 is saying, but I think that's what makes it my favorite. It seems like an old invitation or something along those lines. It seems like a very old, cherished memory from the past. The desaturation adds a nice touch.
