I enjoyed this series of images from you because while half of the images look like they could have been taken years ago on an old retro film camera, others were very clearly of less-retro looking things while maintaining that old school look... a vintage look with a new age feel! I do wish you had a bit more variety in shots and think you may have gone a little overkill with the bridge, but the selection you have is still strong. Photo 11 is by far my favorite. It makes me remember nights gone by of young love and loss.
Hey Kristen, All of you pictures are really great! My favorite picture is number 11. It really looks like a vintage picture with the filter you chose to use. It also has a little mystery in it as well, and that is a great touch to make the picture look interesting. Great job!
My favorite image is 8. It really does look like an old photo and I think it captures the assignment well. It also helps create a story. I had an emotional connection with this photo, it reminded me about all of those times I have looked back at something. This feeling led me to stare at the photo for a while not because I was examining it but it was forcing me to examine myself. Pretty cool.
My favorite photo is image 14. When I look at this photo I feel like I'm taken back in time to a small, sleepy town in the 50s. I also think you did a great job using what you learned in the other topics throughout the semester. The way you framed the shot added to the authentic feel of the photo, as well as the way you utilized the lighting and depth of field to add more layers to your photo. Nice job!
I think image 11 is your most successful image. The path being dark on one side and light on the other lends a sense of mystery as well as making it seem suspended in time. I think the shadows could have been pushed a little more to create a more dynamic contrast, but it is still a great image.
Hi Kristen! Really love this set of photos. They all tie in rather well together and it was a nice touch to use the same "wash" to get a similar feel. My favorite photo is the 3rd, of the pay phone. I think it fits in nicely with the theme because it's both vintage and memory. I feel this tells a nice story about our past as a people.

ReplyDeleteHi Kristen, I really enjoyed your photoset. My favorite is photo number 2. The photo looks like there is a story to it and it seems like something that will remind me of a specific time or memory. The photo also looks like some kind of life style photo for a fashion brand. I think the bridge shots and the computer shots were a bit cliché, but overall I really liked your filters and edits to your photos.

ReplyDeleteHey Kristen,
ReplyDeleteI like the bridge photos but I do wish there was some more variety in the set as a whole. #8 is my favorite, nice depth of field.
