Hi Dan. I enjoyed looking through your photo set. My favorite is photo #5. I think the content of the photo really captured the Vintage/Memory topic. It was a simple yet effective interpretation of the theme.
Hi Dan, I love the outside pictures in your set of photos. When looking at all your pictures there is definitely a sense of vintage with the filters you chose. My favorite picture is number 9 because it looks like a wooden wall, but at the same time I don’t think it is. But it definitely looks really old, which was the assignment! Good job!
My favorite is 7. Not only is the subject in the photo vintage, but the photo makes it look even older. It reminds me of this type writer my parents had at their store when I was younger. I had to stay with them at their store because I was too young to be home by myself and I remember just typing nonsense on a type writer because I loved the noise it made. It really just brought me back.
Hey Dan! I really like 12. The dived between cement and leafs speaks to me as silly as that sounds. It reminds me of some kind of divide in life that I'm sure everyone has experienced at some point in their life. Overall, I really enjoy your pictures! I also like how you did a past and present picture for your selfies. Keep it up!
My favorite is number 6. It gives you a sense of an emotional connection because of the heart shape tear in the liner. It also creates a feeling of a barrier or perhaps something you have not overcome. Finally, the tear pulls you in and draws the viewer forward.
I really like the texture of 9, the framing of 13, and the general mood of 14. I dig the past through present of your images, starting with one self portrait and ending with another. Whatever story that's there must be an interesting one for sure. I think you also did a good job with keeping other elements like informal balance in mind in some images. I guess 14 is my favorite. Good job.
Hi Dan! My two favorite shots (it's a tie) are 12 and 15. I love the transition from concrete to leaves- the color contrast is almost monochromatic, but immediately draws the viewer in. I like the vintage feel it promotes and for me, it made me think of walks home from school growing up and seeing more and more leaves on the ground and knowing fall was coming to an end. I also loved the emotional draw of 15- whenever I see these type of carvings, I wonder if the couple is still together. Nice eye
Hi Dan, I really like photo 7 of the old typewriter. There's a lot of irony here when you consider that the photo was taken with a smartphone and you literally "captured the past." Makes me wonder what kinds of stories that dinosaur of a machine told.
