Hey Chi, I really enjoyed looking at your set. As soon as I saw #1 it instantly grabbed me and I was fixated on it for sometime, I think it captured the theme of this unit perfectly. All the different items for sale, relics of a different time as a store ends its run. There are so many colors in frame that it keeps your eye moving and makes you recognize all the different details in the shot.
This a great set of photos. This is the first set of photos that I have seen that has one specific theme. Each picture is unique and captures a different place or space in its own way. I like how you revisited past topics like color and B&W as seen in photo #1,2,4,9 & sp2. Another strong component of your images is how full and organized your frames are. Your photos let the viewer create the story and the atmosphere. My only complaint is your picture size, I wisht they were a little bigger so we could see them better. My favorite picture is #13
Hi Chi, I really like all your pictures! The filters you used really came across as vintage. My favorite picture is number 2 because although the picture has a lot of subjects and is crowded, it is also very simple and easy to understand. Good job!
#12 is my favorite. The shallow depth of field really enhances the photo. #14 is also very good. The way you captured the wet road reflecting the sky is very impressive and well shot. The lighting in #4 is very abstract and makes an other wise simple image very intriguing.
Hey Chi!14 is my favorite! I really enjoy this one because the ground is wet so it reflects the lights from the cars, the stop light and the sky! You also capture some drops of rain on the windshield which is awesome. It's also enjoy the light that is lighting up the clock tower on the church. Your pictures are all great! Keep it up!
I think 2 is my favorite. I love the black and white feel to the picture. You can also see that the bar uses wooden muddlers which makes it feel even older. I like it with the coffee cup in the shot too. It reminds me of the prohibition era with speakeasies. There could be alcohol in your cup or coffee or whatever. It's the mystery of not knowing.
I think you made some good images in this crit, with 9 being my favorite and 14 being a close runner up. I just don't really get a vintage or memory feel from these images, though.
Image 4 is my favorite. not only did the processing add an air of timelessness, the composition and subject makes the viewer unsure of when this image happened. It is a great skill to have that the image itself is successful before processing.
Hi Chi! I loved your photoset, but my favorite image was photo 12. It took me back to when I was traveling Europe and the cafes I found in small villages. I love how you blurred out some of the shot to add to the vintage feel of the photo, but kept the colorful aspect of the chairs and features throughout the cafe. The light through the window made me want to sit down and read a book and have a coffee. Awesome job!
I really love your first photo. I think the vintage rummage sale really captures the vintage aspect (obviously), but also "memory" because all of those items belong to someones past and each thing tells a story of its own. Well done.
