I like your 8th image because the face of the figurine is captivating. I also think how you placed the figurine in the frame is interesting. The high contrast post processing works well for this photo.
Hi Julie, for the construction of your work, all of the subjects are placed mostly in the center, which is good but some do not force my eyes to go thought out the whole picture. And for the communication, I feel that you really love your dog from all the pictures of it! I also love taking pictures of my dog! As for for conception I think most of the pictures capture the idea of mystery, but some are more obvious than others. All in all I really like your pictures and the ones of your dog! My favorite picture is #3 because that is an interesting way to have a self portrait and I also love makeup as well!
So I had written a really long comment about a lot of things but Blogger glitched and I accidentally deleted it and am way too lazy to write it out all again, so I'm gonna do a quick version. Sorry if it seems short, it was longer. :(
1. Too much of the dog. You obviously can make great images, so avoid those photo cliches and doing too many of the same subject! 2. Your self portrait with the make up is one of my favorite I've seen so far and has the level of creativity/not straight up selfie quality that people should be aiming for 3. Photo 2 is your most successful mystery wise, but I don't know if it's my favorite image overall. The negative space is good but makes me mad uncomfortable for some reason.
I think my favorite image is 9. It's one of two images that I would say are both somewhat mysterious and also have this air of uneasyness about them, compared to the otherwise happy images you have.
Shot #3 is my favorite- this self portrait definitely captures your personality and creativity! I have to agree with Ian- your puppy is so cute, but try pushing yourself next assignment by taking pictures of other subjects. I really like how you framed #2 and that it creates a level of anxiety for the viewer. I think that this shot showcases your eye and really allows the viewer to get a sense of what you view as mysterious. Excited to see what pictures you create for next assignment.
I really like #1. Though I can tell what it is, I can sense a mystery as to what it's for, or that there might be a story behind it. You have good balance in your photos, and nice framing. My eye is drawn around the picture on most, not on main object. Some of the photos I feel are maybe less mysterious than others, but all show great use of tone and levels of contrast for the black and white aspect.
My favorite photo is number 2. I like how it takes you a minute to figure out what your looking at. The solid white background also makes the image all the more interesting. For the construction of your photos, the subjects are usually centered. A majority of the photos are interesting close-up of various objects. For the communication of your photos, I like dogs, rides, and the city so a majority of your photos resonate with my own interests. You make all of these things appear intriguing and mysterious in your photos. For the conception of your photos, it seems like most of your pictures are of things you like.
This is really cool I love that cityscape. Great tones and focus. I love the luminance on them all, but I think number 4 might have been edited a tad too much.
Really liked number 9 because it was the most mysterious of the bunch. Nicely composed and interesting to look at. Would have liked to see more contrast though.
Number two is my favorite. It isn't readily apparent what the subject is, or even where it is in space. The viewer is pushed to look at other artistic aspects besides subject, which isn't always easy to do with a smart phone camera, but I feel you accomplished this with this image.
I like number 2 the best. It's one where it's really unclear what I'm looking at. The rest of them need to be varied as far as where you're placing the object within the frame. You could stand to frame things a little differently, which will help in adding mystery to your subject.
