  1. You're pictures are great! Were they taken at the eastern state penitentiary?
Since the topic was color and passion, my favorite has to be #14. I like how the color of the hydrant pops compared to everything else in the image even though the background isn't black or white. Truly great.

  2. I really love the dark, gritty rich tones in your pictures of what appears to be Eastern State. It really does capture the essence of Eastern state and brings out a dark mood. I also love the picture of the skater. That angle and the colors of the sky really does bring out the passion in what he enjoys doing. Awesome!

  3. Hi Kristen,
I really enjoyed your photos from Eastern State. I have been there a few times and your photos took me back to the eerie cells and crumbling hallways. You really utilized the lighting, giving your photos interior ambience. Another aspect of your photos that I like is the depth. In the photos from the penitentiary and the photo of the train tracks, you pull my vision inward and then force me to have to refocus to really grasp the whole image. The organization of your photos also makes sense as you transitioned from being inside to outside. My favorite photo is #3, the lighting, depth and textures in the photo create a photo full emotion and mystery.

  5. I love the overall tone in your photo set. My favorite shot is your third photo. There's a lot of depth and I like how you captured the various light sources to add more to a monochrome photo. It pulls the viewer in to look at all the different layers you framed in the photo. A very cool take on the color assignment. Well done!

  6. I loved your photos. The majority of them left me with an empty almost frightened feeling. I enjoyed how some of your photos showed the color in darker settings and others in a brighter sense. My favorite photo was 3. I like the depth in the photo and the tones of green and blue are brought out. Great job

  7. I really like the beginning theme of your photos (eastern state?) Youre use of dark colors, and high contrast makes for very eerie shots which o assume you were going for. 2 is my favorite. I like the gates and the lines you get from them. All of your first set of this also are framed so they are slightly disorienting which just adds to the overall effect. Awesome!

  8. #3 is my favorite. I like how the picture has so many things in it and so many textures but everything is a natural shade of blue. I like how most of you prison photos have an overall shade of one single color (1- brown, 2- blueish green). For the organization of your photos, with a few exceptions, they start inside the grim, depressing prison and gradually transition out of the prison and onto happier outdoor things, like skateboarding. I thought this organization method was very effective. All of your pictures are very effectively composed. The positioning of the objects/landscapes in the frame all set a very distinct mood. Also, all of your pictures are very sharp, which is great. On my phone camera, color pictures, especially ones with a lot of detail, come out fuzzy and pixelated. Overall, I really like all of the photos in your collection.

  9. 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. Oh my god. I can't even choose. They're all so good. If I absolutely had to choose a favorite, it would be 5. I feel like there's something spooky and moving about all those faces from the fast. The way you incorporated them and all and chose to shoot monochrome is just so well done. The texture on the walls really adds to the feel of the photo. I would love to know where these shots were taken.

  10. My favorite is number 2 because of the way you incorporated green in the shadows of the photo. I think this color fits in well with the mood of the space you captured.

  11. I really like the tonality on the first 8 photos. Very dark and eerie feel to these. I think the last ones, though they have more vibrant colors, are over-edited and over-saturated. My favorite is #3. Looks like something straight out of a horror movie.
