  1. #3 is definitely my favorite. I love how half of it is grown and the other half is still waiting to blossom. The colors accent each other really well along with the color of the sky in the background. Good job!

  2. Hey Kendel,
I really liked your photos. They weren't extremely drastic in color and I think that added a lot more emotion to your photos then would have otherwise been present. It also helped highlight what you were trying to focus in on because it made that object pop. My favorite photo is #2. The colors are so similar yet so distinguishable and they really make for a cool presentation. I also think your frame is on point.

  3. Kendel - Great outside pictures and capturing little moments. The ducks swimming in a row in #12 is very beautiful and homely and the look on the barista's face in #8 captures someone who enjoys what they do. My favorite picture from this set is your self portrait #5. I love the look of dissatisfaction on your face next to a blank wall, giving the few a sense of emptiness.

  4. I really liked photo #2. I enjoyed how the door was not centered and it made me look longer at the photo. I like how in the photo you can see the different shades of colors and the door almost has a fade look. You did a great job of capturing color in small bursts in each of your photos. I like how you used light in a few of your photos if gave me a warmth feeling when I viewed them.

  5. #2 is my favorite. The dingy coloring adds a lot, giving a gritty feel to it, making the viewer curious about what's there-behind the door. Your photos overall have an excellent balance of colors-nothing is too saturated. You also have a good use of the grid effect, not centering things and appearing to compose your shots thoughtfully before shooting.

  6. While I think some images still kind of cross into Berk's Photo Cliches, I think you did a pretty good job with this body of work. #9 is my absolute favorite. The way the image is composed is just excellent. I could imagine seeing that on a bus or something and being a real successful entertainment. Sure, it doesn't knock you over the head with bright colors, but I feel that most people (myself included) went for flashiness and disregarded some of the darker colors, even if they were good shots. You didn't do that in this one, and I feel that that's what made it a successful image. I do feel like you can do a bit more with some of the others, though. There are a few shots of run down/overtaken buildings in this that I think you could have worked better. You took such great coffee-related images, and I assume it's because you spent a lot of time there. Maybe do something similar to those other places you were as well? I guarantee you it'll improve your work.

    Good job.

  7. I like the #14 photo because of the personal nature of the photo. I think sometimes we forget that our beds are where we spend most of our time and I think a photo of a bed is interesting and revealing.

  8. Shot 9 is my favorite- I just love how the light perfectly frames the coffee beans in the person's hands. It also really made the brown really pop, which is surprising because I would never consider brown as a color that pops. Looking at this picture you can smell the coffee beans and it gives off a warm vibe. Nice shot!

  9. My favorite here is the sunflower in the middle of its bloom. What ever that filter is, it looks like a really good lo-fi/film emulation. Remind me of California or that Lana Del Ray album cover for some reason.
