Hi Michael, for the construction of your work, I think it is very organized and all the subjects are centered and there is not too much excess space for any of the pictures. As for the communication of your pictures, I think you met the assignment well because most of the pictures I cannot tell what exactly it is, but all the pictures are still very interesting to look at. And for the conception of the pictures most seem to be from outside from what I can tell, which is nice to see something you are unsure of come from the outdoors! All in all great job and my favorite picture is #1 because it really follows the assignment well and I have no idea what that is!
Michael - I really like the contrast of placing pictures #5 and #6 after each other. Five is very cold and icy to me, its very calming. In six, there is a shift, there's a vast amount of darkness and you can't see what's in the frame in a sort of unsettling way. My favorite picture in this group is nine, there really is no comfortable place for the eye and I found my self continually wondering what it is. The picture reminds me of a spider climbing a wall.
Yo Mike! I'm really glad you're also in this class. PhotoJ, represent! What wuuuut.
Not gonna lie, #4 was the first image I saw when scanning everyone's posts last week that I was legitimately stumped on for the longest time. Honestly, I'm still not exactly sure what it is, which I think means you win the title of king of mystery.
You did a pretty good job with the theme. A few of the photos are pretty easy to figure out and your self portraits are still pretty direct, but for the most part, you did darn good. I would have to say that #6 is probably my favorite, 4 may have stumped me more, but 6 has this eerie horror feel that seriously freaks me out. Great job, dude.
I feel like all of your photos together expressed daily activities. They all flowed nicely together. My favorite is #3. I shows different textures and a complete mystery. Your photos left me feeling accomplished. Almost like it was a log of my agenda for the day. You did a very nice job of capturing photos and conveying them in a way unidentifiable.
I attempted commenting once, so if I repeat myself I'm sorry!! I loved #7. It not only communicates a great mystery as go what te subject is, but also a sense of humor. I really thought it was google eyes looking at me. I see your photos as texturly interesting, with a good habbit of not centering things to keep me interested. You also seem to have taken consideration into how the light was captured in each photo, adding depth and nice contrast.
Your pictures are really fascinating. They are all so close to the subject that it's hard to tell what everything is. I wish that there were some pictures that were a little more far away like the pool playing picture. My favorite has to be #5. I see ice sculptures all the time at my work (I work for a wedding company) and it's really cool seeing how people can capture every angle of an ice sculpture. Good job!
The one big thing about your pictures that stick out to me is how close you get to your subjects. The closeness adds this whole other depth to your pictures.Getting so close gives me a good feel for the textures in your pictures. A majority of your pictures capture mystery very well. My favorites are 5 and 8.
Hey Mike, Overall I like the construction of your images. You focused in on one specific component and let it do the talking for you. I think this helped your images communicate to the viewer as you grasped their best characteristic. I am not sure what your theme was but it seemed like it involved having a good time.
Well, number 7 is awesome and I love it because I'm into goofy looking things like that. It's everything I think this assignment is supposed to be. The pool table shot is also awesome and well-timed. I think 7 works much better within the context of the project, though. A

My favorite image is 10. I love the delay and the action it captured.
ReplyDeleteLove the high contrast of photo 2. This photo is nice use of rule of thirds. Very interesting.
