  1. I like the first photo in the set because of the way you used light. I also like the way you used patterns and shadow to compose the image. Additionally I think the photo is impactful because you placed your eye in the rule of thirds top left.

  2. Hi Kendel, for the construction of your photos, most are visually organized in a sense that they all have pops of light and have round objects within the picture. As for the communication, when I look at the pictures I feel mostly a feeling of wander or confusion, such as the self portrait of you looking up. and the other one with the blank look on your face. And for the conception I can tell the motivation was to have mystery in your pictures and also as mentioned before pops of light within the pictures. All in all I really enjoy your pictures and my favorite picture is #6 because the metallic objects are hitting the light just right and popping out of the image!

  3. When I looked at your photos I feel like I understood your photos, but at the same time did not understand them. I liked how some photos were lighter than others and you did not use the dark as the mystery. My favorite photo was number 4. I also like concerts and I feel if you did not have the singer in the shot I would have had no idea what this image was. I enjoyed all of your photos especially your self photos.

  4. I think the way your images are currently laid out reminds me of a sandwich made with two crusts. The outside parts are okay, but it's really in the middle where it starts to shine. Most of your images are composed relatively well (though I have to say, there is a lot of shakeyness in some of them when I honestly can't figure out why they're like that), but most of them don't really have an air of mystery to them at all.

And then we get to 5 through 8 or 9 and then BOOM! Mystery! I honestly wish more of your photos were like these because some of them really stumped me!

#5 is definitely my favorite image of the bunch. I still don't truly know what it actually is, and it's incredibly well exposed and shot.

  5. #5 is my favorite. I can see the lightbulbs, but as to the setting of them, it remains a mystery. I feel like the second half of your photos you really tapped into your mysterious groove so to speak, really playing with light to give more mystery to your subjects. The photos are all well composed and framed, leading my eye around the whole image, looking closely at the details. Also, I have to ask, who's the band? Awesome pic of the setup!

  6. A lot of these really nailed the assignment as far as not being able to tell what the subjects you shot are. 5&6 are definitely my favorites. The Made in America one has a nice grain over but I wish I saw the feet. I think number 3 could have been subbed out for one of your others.

  7. My favorite photo is number 5. The composition of it is very well done. It's also very mysterious but not at the same time. It's clear it's light bulbs but it's not clear why they are set up the way they are or where they are which makes it very intriguing. I also really like your self-portraits. I had a hard time coming up with interesting ways to take my self-portrait. Both of your ideas were really creative and clever. For the construction of your photos, the subjects/focal points of your photos vary. For the communication of your photos, most of your photos are clear and very well-lit. I had problems with my photos coming out too dark. Your photos transition from outdoor photos to indoor photos.

  8. 11, your self portrait, is my favorite due to the mixed emotions you pull from the viewer, without using complex subject or organization. Having the image off center puts the viewer off balance, which adds even more to the sense of mystery.

  9. I like 8 the best. I think it sums up the assignment pretty well. Your self portaits are also very creative. Some of the photos don't work though. The concert isn't really mysterious at all but you have some really great stuff to build upon.
