Hey Kati, The construction of your photos is well done with the various focuses and angles of your photos. The conception of your work is clearly your interests and I feel like I got to know you through them. Your photos communication is great. I think it is clear and relatable. Personally I can relate to a lot of your photos especially #7, volleyball is one of my favorite sports to play and now I wish I was on the court. My favorite picture is SP1. The lighting, color and angle almost make the image 3D.
Kati - I really love the variety of shots, objects, and colors in each of your pictures, they're all different and add different perspective. I love the what the clouds reflect on the car hood in picture one, showing that there's more than one what to recreate an image. Picture number five is my favorite, the focus on the ball drives to eye to it and the lighting makes in a vibrant and energetic photo, reminding me of an adrenaline rush.
Hi Kati! I really like how all your pictures are very different and definitely show what you are passionate about. The picture of the crayons are really interesting and because of the angle you chose and I also like how the light is catching the crayons. I also notice how some of the pictures are very bright and colorful, but some of the pictures are also a more faded color, but that makes all the pictures unique. Out of all your pictures I enjoy #5 the most because I like how the ball is in focus and the background is more blurry which forces you to look at the ball the most.
Kati, you have a variety of different shots that truly does capture the essence of Topic 2. Especially, picture #1 with a blue sky reflecting on the hood of your car. The reflection of the sky gives a cool effect to your car. Well done!
im really a fan of the almost randomness of picture 9, the colors are vibrant and the contrast is hi bringing out the shadows in all the objects but almost blending them together with a sense of unity that wouldnt have been there before
I like picture # 9 because it reveals something about you and captures a wide array of colors. It might be a more interesting photo if you boosted up the contrast a bit more. Well done!
While I do like these photos, I feel like your most successful images were the ones that weren't so heavily edited. I'm not sure what you did, but a lot of these pictures have this sort of hardcore HDR look to them that makes me feel like I'm looking at a picture covered in plastic. It's kind of weird and makes my eyes hurt a bit, as I get stuck on every single individual pixel instead of what those pixels mean together.
But, aside from that, I think you did a good job with this. I'm a little sad that the shot of the Xbox controller didn't make it into the final set (I actually thought it was stronger than some of the pictures here), but you went out and captured the stuff you're passionate about. I think my favorite picture is number 2. You got up and personal with those crayons, and had them in good light. That, and the way they were organized (or disorganized, maybe?) in the box was pleasing on the eye.
These photos are interesting, but I think they are over-edited and show evidence of HDR. I'm not one for HDR but thats just my opinion. Plenty of other people who shoot on smartphones will insist on shooting HDR to get the best possible combination of colors.
